Catherine's Binoculars
01:54
|
|||
There’s a tale that I must tell you
About Catherine’s binoculars
Her name was Catherine Sexton
Lived on the hill above my room
And when I undressed for the night
She knew what she had to do
She hid in the dark and watched me
Said her young brother, Matthew
Later banned from seeing me, though
Catherine’s binoculars
Though her peeping played no part
Catherine’s binoculars
My room was within her view
Catherine’s binoculars
I was a bad influence for her
Catherine’s binoculars

Ghost in the Closet
02:33
|
|||
I had a dream about a ghost in the closet
My little brother had this same dream too
When I told mom she said it was haunted
My Aunt agreed it had bad juju
I thought that I’d see the ghost in the mirror
As I brushed my teeth before bed
I tried to focus on my brushing
And not at the closet that was within my view
I had a dream about a dead squirrel in the closet
With three heads it chased me, indeed
Quite frightened, I ran and I ran from
The rodent who pursued me endlessly
But later I dreamt of that squirrel in the closet
Realized it was simply sad
It was misunderstood by everyone
So from that point we became close comrades

Dad's Boots
02:53
|
|||
Dad’s boots on the floor at 6:04
Slamming cupboards and all the drawers
Stomp stomp stomp, crash bang
Dad’s boots down the hall
Did something just fall?
Ain’t it the strangest thing?
Grab the bandaids
Dad’s boots on the moon
Going tap tap tap to Neptune
Mama I think I should move soon
Peace
Dad’s boots on the lawn
Mowing though it was just done
He’s gotta be mowing dirt
At dawn
I cannot sleep
With those stomps and those creaks
“Hey Lee, turn up the TV”
They must be outlawed
Those boots are in my skull
And I’m now begging you please
Dad’s boots tall and proud
The point is to be loud
Don’t stand in his way
Or dad’s boots in your teeth
Protecting his family
He’ll come stomp you down
So don’t you come around
With a false of security
Planning on some tranquility
Not meant to be
Trust me
Nor in the shopping malls
Nor in the horse’s stalls
Dad’s boots will crush it all
If there is a God
I ask my dad be unshod
I will forever be his devotee
S’pose if there were
He would not make me endure
Or was it my lust, sloth, or gluttony?
Dad’s boots on the floor, at 6:04
Slamming cupboards and all the drawers
Stomp stomp stomp, crash bang
Dad’s boots down the hall
Did something just fall?
Ain’t it the strangest thing?
Grab the bandaids
Dad’s boots on the moon
Going tap tap tap to Neptune
Mama, I think I should move soon
Peace
Dad’s boots on the lawn
Mowing though it was just done
He’s gotta be mowing dirt
At dawn

Walking Little Carey
02:32
|
|||
“Will you walk me home?
Though you’re a heathen, it’s true
My momma says you’re a tool of the devil
And I believe her”
I’m walking in the snow
Holding hands with little Carey
We’re heading for her house now
Walking little Carey
Walking little Carey
She just plops down
Making me late
She’s laughing in the dirt lane
She’s gonna get run over
Who is to blame?
Hey, I’m telling on you now
Please let’s be on our way
Why’s her mother trust her babe
To a pawn of satan like me?
Walking her baby home
Walking her babe
“Will you walk with me home?
It’s now getting quite late
My momma says you’ll burn in hell
It’s your ultimate fate"
I’m walking in the snow
Holding hands with little Carey
We’re heading for her house now
Walking little Carey
Walking little Carey

Days in a haze
With old Thelma Quinn
Weeding her wrong garden
Begin again
Runs over a mailbox
Was in the way
She just leaves it
Tattered and hanging
Whenever she came to cut flowers
Hers she said
This is a house built by my hub, Redd
Oh...
He’s in a vegetative state
I saw him once
His toenails
Oh…
